Heidi Wilson is an accredited communications practitioner, adjunct professor, entrepreneur and innovator originally from Martinsville, VA where her love for communications, storytelling, people and teaching began.
Heidi is the Founder of HWILSONPR which is a public relations practice that aims to educate audiences about public relations. Established in 2008, HWILSONPR works on special projects for various organizations, small businesses, non-profit organizations and new entrepreneurs as they begin to build their brands. Heidi loves being a part of the birth of a new idea, event and business venture. Moreover, her services rely heavily on the vision, goals and expected outcomes of the organization.
Heidi previously worked as department head of a communications academic department for a private HBCU. As department head, she also taught courses such as Social Media, Crisis Communications, Public Relations Campaigns, Event Planning, Public Relations Writing, Research in Public Relations and more. She continues to teach at colleges and Universities throughout the country.
Heidi's most recent accomplishments include earning her accreditation in public relations through the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), receiving honorable mention as "Outstanding HBCU Educator of the Year" by PRNEWS (a provider of resources and development for public relations professionals) and writing her book "Navigating Public Relations for Your Business. "
