TEACHING

I have taught at various colleges and Universities throughout the country to include Virginia Union University, Virginia Commonwealth University and Newberry College. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor of Mass Communications with a specialty focus in public relations at Virginia Union University. 

I teach PR courses such as Social Media, Introduction to Public Relations, Media & Crisis Communications, Public Relations Research, Public Relations Writing, Public Relations Campaigns, Event Planning, Professional Communications and more. My PR courses are designed to prepare students for the work world with real, hands-on experiences. Students work with real clients and develop professional campaigns that are used during their career journey. 

Additional non PR-related courses that I have taught and facilitated include: Media Ethics, Foundations of Mass Communications, Senior Portfolio and Internship. 

In addition to teaching, I have experience advising a Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter and overseeing a public relations agency titled, "Panther Communications."  I work each and everyday to enhance my students' education, broaden their professional network and help launch their careers after graduation.
